How bad is it if I only get around 4-5 hours of sleep?

I don't feel tired when I wake up or when I continue my day, I know I should get like 8 or so but I can't sleep untill like 3 or 4 and wake up at 8 [without alarms I wake up at 9].

I also heard that sleeping more helps lose weight, could you explain that if it's true

Update:

edit: Crystal I sleep like this everyday including weekends

I don't sleep much during the week either. I catch up on weekends. I have heard that in order to be healthy and maintain a good weight, you need enough sleep. I believe it is because sleep is needed in order for your brain to replenish the chemicals and for you to be balanced. Not enough sleep causes stress which leads to weight gain, etc.

Well, honestly, I am the same way and my doctor says I'm really healthy. I don't know about the weight thing. I don't sleep and supposedly I'm a little underweight. So, I don't know but I heard that too.
