Can we come to God and be saved; Any time that we want to?

"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:44).

Update:

"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears" (Hebrews 12:14-17).

Update 2:

RUTH: God is not a rag that can be used to clean up whatever mess we might choose to make. I remember as a young man, i thought that i could be like the theif on the cross. I trampled under foot the grace of God, grieving the very Spirit of God. I used His Precious Name in vain calling upon Him only to add the word "dam" to what i had to say. When i finally hit bottom it took me three days of fervant prayer to find forgiveness. By the third day i was stricken with the fear that He might not forgive me. Yes He forgave me, but i have no doubt that we can't all be the "theif on the cross".

Update 3:

God has predestined all of us to be saved. But He has the ability to choose not to know whither or not we will be saved or lost. If He were to choose to know, our freedom of choice would no longer exist. We might as well live as we want to. Here is some scriptures that tell us that God has the power not to know our past sin. If this is so, don't you think He would also have the power not to know our future sin as well?

Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Hbr 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hbr 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Update 4:

Dawn (froggie): Amen ! i hope everyone reads what you have writen. God Bless.

Obviously there's no doing anything until He draws us.

After that of course many things can take place !

I have seen it take years !

But then one day we either run to Him or just Break !

    I was broken.

Any time we want to ???

I guess if the time was right and we weren't just doing something for the sake of doing something.

I know personally some people who said they got saved and then years later when God made Himself known they gave in.

Never to be the same again !

I am one of them !

Ephesians 1:5 and 11 declare, “He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will.…In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.” Many people have a strong hostility to the doctrine of predestination. However, predestination is a biblical doctrine.

The Bible says that we have the freewill choice – all we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and we will be saved (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10). The Bible never describes God rejecting anyone who believes in Him or turning away anyone who was seeking Him (Deuteronomy 4:29). Somehow, in the mystery of God, predestination works hand in hand with a person being drawn by God (John 6:44) and believing unto salvation (Romans 1:16). God predestines who will be saved, and we must choose Christ in order to be saved. Both facts are equally true.

    Anytime until we are dead.

Hebrews 9:27 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,

Who knows when our number will be up. We could be hit by a truck walking out of work today. To help your decision, I have 2 Mac trucks warmed up in the alley.

Not really, but I hope all can see what I'm talking about!

Seriousness of purpose is of primary importance. It is a law of life that we get what we go after.

What a person needs when searching for God, is the same kind of drive that men have in mining for silver or in searching for hidden treasures. The tragedy is that too often men show more zeal in acquiring material wealth than spiritual riches.

But those who seek inevitably find. Those who are anxious to come into a right relationship with God are never disappointed. Christ reveals the Father to all who believe on Him. To know Christ is to know God.

what John 6:44 means is: God, not man, plays the most active role in salvation. When someone chooses to believe in Jesus Christ as Savior, he does so only in response to the urging of God's Holy Spirit. God does the urging; then we decide whether or not to believe. Thus no one can believe in Jesus without God's help.

    Hope this Helped God Bless

Where is it that this "want to" comes from, do ya' think? From the Father! Yes. Now is the time!

Edit: Right, no matter how much Esau cried, he could not get back his birth-right. He had to settle for a second-blessing.

II Timothy 3:16 KJV "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for DOCTRINE, for REPROOF, for CORRECTION, for INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS:" (caps mine)

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast."

If we defile our bodies by this world's offerings, we will be castaways in God's work here. We will not receive the full rewards in heaven. We will live with remorse and rejection here, as well as the consequences of our actions. We may be very lonely Christians. But we are still saved by the blood of Jesus. AND if we allow it, God can turn that raggy past into good work. He can use us to minister to others outside the church. Rom. 8:28-39

I have heard people say they prayed for days for repentance, which was granted, of course, but in their hearts, they felt such an emptiness, (kind of like Jesus on the cross? "Father, why hast thou forsaken me?"). He knows what it takes to make you truly repentant, and if it is time to reflect and prayer, so be it. All I know for sure is He is there whenever I need Him, and possibly at times I think I don't need Him. Keeping a daily vigilance with Jesus, pray non-ceasing, will help you avoid those 'empty times'. God Bless.

Coming to God is not a matter of man's will but only God's free will to save his elect people known to him from eternity! On the other hand once man is save, this salvation is secured by God; Salvation is by grace and not by man's choice to choose Jesus Christ as saviour. All the bible support this view.

Yes, we can turn to God at any time.

It really brings to mind the story of the Prodigal Son who wandered off and spent his inheritance yet in the end his only recourse was to return to his father's house if he wanted to survive, and he was welcomed warmly with open arms, you probably know the story.
