How much would it cost to replace engine gaskets on a 1996 jeep cherokee (8 cyl)?

well seeing how ur question is so vague i will do the best to answer this question. First if its just valve covers this you can do your self

other then that i would seek the help of a trained tech. I am in the middle of putting new head gaskets on a dakota with a 5.9l v8 with the machine work and labor its just over 2000.00 so it can get pricey. oil pan gasket would run about 400 at a shop rear main seal around 700 and so on so more info would help tons.

since you did not say what gaskets it makes this a hard question if its valve cover gaskets your looking at a few hundred bucks but if its a head gasket or a rear main seal that's more like 1500 and up plus work on the heads if there damaged. if its an intake manifold gasket again more expensive. do you know what gaskets need to be replaced ? if so let us know and we can try to get a better answer for ya. also work being done by a mechanic would help but if you have some one you know who knows about cars and engines maybe they can help you .

also you cab buy a cherokee with a V8 its a ZJ modle or a larado not a XJ cherokee

Are you talking about oil gaskets, Like the valve covers and oil pan? Any thing more than, you should be fairly well versed in auto mecanics. But if u go too NAPA or Autozone websites, they list what u need

And so on...uh....am I just picky...but you cannot have a V-8 in a Cherokee unless you installed it yourself.

Because replacing mean opening the whole engine , might as well overhaul it,1500 to 2000 dollars.

however, need to be specific as to which gasket need to be replaced then cost will change.
