  • Want to run a 120 volt welder off a generator?

The 120 volt plugs on the generator are only rated at 13 amps. the welder requires 20 amps. If I buy an adapter to plug into the 30 amp/ 240 volt receptacle that has 2-120 volt pigtails, will it give me the amps I need? or just split the circuit and give me the same amps as the 120 volt receptacles I already have(13 amps)? This pigtail....http://www.amazon.ca/Coleman-Cable-Generator-Adapt...

  • Centrifugal clutch removal?

I am trying to remove a clutch on a Honda clone 6.5 hp, The strange thing is that its not seized on the shaft, it turns freely, I have removed all components(drum, shoes, springs c-clips) so, I know its not just the drum spinning. I have tried a puller with no luck. What the heck is holding the remaining part on shaft? I dont see a key, I dont know if it was never installed or broke? I think if it was broken, I d feel some resistance when I spin it, but I dont. The end of shaft doesnt seem mushroomed. I hate the thought of tryng to grind it off.

  • 2004 Grand Chrerokee P0135 and P0155..?

I feel its sort of odd to have these codes at once. so I looked at the infamous fuse 16. Not blown. Unplugged bank 1 sensor and tested incoming voltage at all 4 terminals with key on. No voltage..Went backl and Checked voltage at fuse terminal. no voltage So, leads me to question. Is there always voltage there? or could the PCM not be sending juice there if the sensors are already warm enough?. Is there also a relay That could be bad?

  • I have a low brake pedal on an 2004 Gran Cherokee.?

Brake pedal is not spongy, it just has long travel. Seems to stop fine with normal foot effort. Normally in this case I d suspect rear brakes out of adjustment. But this has 4 wheel discs, . A) the discs dont look too great. Could the calipers be opening too much due to scale on the rotors? B) is master cyl failing? C) something else?

What are you Jeep(and convertible top car) owners using to lubricate the zippers? Napa and Autozone sell nothing for this. Im thinking MINK OIL would work pretty good. Should lubricate, can lay on thick(wipe off excesses)safe on fabric, even all natural. What are you using?

  • mdk68gto could u elaborte on this answer?

...... "i do not find them that difficult by i do them at work also along with rebuilding them at home so i know what to expect and what to avoid. really that is not a bad price for the service, as long as labor is included. on a manual transmission there is far less to worry about with services. in an automatic, after several miles, like 75000 or more you could run into a problem if you change the fluid out at that point. in a stick not a whole lot can go wrong in that situation: .......

U said, that if he had an auto, that changing the fluid at 40,000 he could run into probs down the road. Ive never heard of that. Ive always been a stickler to change auto trans at 30,000. Im not saying ur wrong, In my Dakota owners manual, there is no reccomended interval, And could never understand why there wasnt one. But sticking to tradition I changed it anyway, at 30K intervals.

Maybe U can teach an old dog a new trick. Why would changing the fluid be a bad thing, and how could there be a potential for probs if it is changed?

  • What is the big deal of imports?

I Drive Chrysler. Had others and to me they are all the same. 210K on a 4 cyl Dakota. 200K on a Caravan. That Caravan left my wife stranded once. Broken CV shaft at 160k. Is that Chryslers fault NO.Current Dakota has 135K. Also an 07 Wrangler and has never had warrenty work. I look on here and see questions with all makes. Import or domestic. Brother had an 05 Kia and a brake line rusted throu. That is unexeptable thou.

I dont think you can say a make is crappy if at 125k it needs a belt, or a starter. or a fuel pump/. You cant expect any manufacturer to make a car with no problems at 200k There is just too many systems to go wrong. I think at some point it comes down to the owner.

Know a guy who always bought new Fords every 3 to 4 years. He says he NEVER changes the oil...He would trade it. Would you want his one owner trade? When that engine smokes at 70k, Is it Fords fault? NO.

I totally think imports are over rated.. Besides. Why would you want the profits going into another countiy's economy?. Made in USA is one thing. Your Honda might be made here, But the profits dont stay here. My Jeep is made, designed, and owned here by ur neigbors. If I have to put an O2 sensor on at 60k....so what. Yeah that whole buy USA is an old argument. But give me a GM, FORD or Chrysler any day.

  • fuel pump 95 S10 blazer?

Ok i have a 95 s10 blazer here. The fuel line was rusted(leak) and needed a wheel cyl. After fixing that, now no fuel pressure. It did work to find the line leak... and did run after. The thing was almost out of gas i should mention. I put some in.

Ok i have 0 PSI at pressure tap. Wiring to sending unit seem tight. No , 1 second buzz in tank turning on ignition. but relays click.

I am convinced the fuel pump died due to low fuel. or age But before i go throu the trouble of dropping the tank, any suggestions that i didnt think of? does this vehicle have an access panel?

    Thanx
