lubicating Jeep soft top zippers?
What are you Jeep(and convertible top car) owners using to lubricate the zippers? Napa and Autozone sell nothing for this. Im thinking MINK OIL would work pretty good. Should lubricate, can lay on thick(wipe off excesses)safe on fabric, even all natural. What are you using?

I literally just lubed my soft top zippers about 15 minutes ago and then came inside and saw your question. I use good ol' WD-40 on my zippers! I'm sure it will have some kind of adverse effect on the fabric in time.. but for now it's working just fine for me. I've had my Jeep since February of this year and have been working the window zippers on and off about every other day since I got it. I have only had to apply the WD-40 twice to the zippers and I just barely push the nozzle so a small stream of foam comes out which I run along the zippers length. Sometime I will try the parafin candle wax though and see what the difference is between the two.

Mopar actually sells a special lubricant for soft top zippers. It was just released last year and we've had good luck with it. Wish I could give you the part # but I'm not at the shop today (home with a sick kid).
Just go to your local dealer and ask for soft top zipper lubricant. Comes in an 8 oz tube.

Mine is pretty old and dusty so I just use a few drops of dish soap. You can always just hit it with the hose to clean it off and apply new. I have also had good luck with a little engine oil onthe trails or WD40.

Any type of parafin, from an old candle to a block of the stuff (sold with canning supplies and at crafts stores) to cheesy waxy crayons of a matching color.

candle wax. just rub it along the zipper, run the zipper back and forth. wipe off excess.
