Fun X 5 X 7 X 5 = The Haiku Thread!?

Haiku's are relatively simple poems that come from our friends in Japan. They consist of 3 lines, with the first line containing 5 syllables, the second containing 7 syllables, and the third containing 5 syllables. Traditionally speaking, their subjects tend to lean toward nature and beauty (and other hard to grasp ideals) however you can write a haiku on anything.

A friend of mine had a small, spiral-bound notebook which sat on the table at his house and any guests of the house could take it and write a haiku in it. There were no restrictions on subject matter, quality, or number of entries within the book. This struck me as a brilliant idea because the overall quality of the collection was amazing. While reading it, you could tell it had this collective, all-encompassing atmosphere which could not be achieved with one author or even a group of authors with one definite aim. There were many different styles presented and the variety of subject matter ranged from friends of ours to superheros to furniture in the room and everything in between.

So I challenge you, Yahoo Answers, to spew forth your haikuic wisdom and let's create something beautiful. With that, I leave you with one of my haikus from the book, divinely inspired by MC Chris lyrics and a comment made by a good friend of mine on the night it was written:

Box wine and Weezer

We're so heterosexual

That was sarcasm
