Windows Xp Command Prompt??

What is, or is there, a command prompt command to end other programs, such as iexplorer.exe, explore.exe, zune.exe, ect?

Update:

explore.exe is indeed an important program but can easily be started again if there is a cmd.exe open, which i usually have open when i am on...

Update 2:

taskkill doesnt work for me, but that link also listed tskill, which does work...

I don't know the command prompt command. But if you want to end processes like that just ctrl alt delete got to the processes tab find explore.exe or whatever your trying to end and press the end button at the bottom.

i don't know if theres a command prompt, but you can do ctrl+alt+delete -> task manager -> process tab, and end processes like the 3 you listed there.

Edit: you don't want to close explorer.exe. It is in charge of things like the task bar and start menu. You can use your computer without it but its very difficult. If your having a problem with explorer.exe you should reboot you computer or use a windows install disk to fix the problem with it. iexplorer.exe is internet explorer which is just an internet browser and is fine to close. But explorer.exe is an important windows process.

To get to the command prompt hit start, then run, and type cmd and then hit ok.

If you want to end programs than't aren't responding, or run in the background, you need to open the task manager. You achieve this with the ctrl-alt-del combo.
