It's Campfire Friday! Anybody have plans for the equinox?

The keyword for us at this time has always been "balance."

Update:

To All Reporters Must Die: Yes, pink is a good color on me, but I prefer green. So if you'll follow me to the woods...

Update 2:

To Crystal: True, the equinox isn't for another month. But I like to make plans early. Of course, a plan is a list of things that often don't happen, so I like to be flexible, too.

Update 3:

All Reporters: Hooka? Oh, please. As if I'd accept money...

Hmmm, the equinox isn't for another month here. (September 22) But yes, balance is a key thought, and I've already begun working on regaining balance in my life (I was getting kind of out of whack for a while there. I had a rough beginning of the year.)

Part of my equinox celebration is my dog and I participate in a fund-raising dog-walk through nature trails along the campus of an agricultural school to benefit the Humane Society. It's very grounding, helps me attune to nature and the harvest time of year, and benefits a good cause.

And then on the closest weekend to Mabon, I like to go challenge myself to the mega-maze at Davis' Farmland in Sterling, MA (the maze is cut out of a corn field and is a different theme every year). I figure, what better way to spend a holiday that celebrates the harvest than right in the middle of a country farm? And the challenge of the maze just makes it a little more interesting and fun.

Then I follow that up with some apple picking at the orchard, and back home for a small solitary ritual and do some cooking with my goodies from the farm stand and orchard.

    Blessings.
