Other than a Wedding, what reason would a woman have to wear a formal white dress?

I'm a seamstress and I happened to design a dress that I am absolutely in love with. It has to be white, though, and it won't have the same effect without a train. It does have some colored accents on it. I really want to make it and wear it.. but I can't imagine where I'd wear it to. I'd hate to make something so beautiful to go to waste.. I've been married for almost 3 years so it's too late to be a wedding dress and way too soon for a vow renewal. I don't have any friends getting married any time soon either..

Any ideas?

Update:

I loaded up the design onto Flickr. The link is below. I could very easily make it without the train, but I really think it would lose some of its beauty..

I'm 23 and married so I'm already past prom, sweet sixteens, and my wedding. No, I don't think everyone has a vow renewal, but they are more common than you think. I can very easily live without this dress, I was just looking for a reason to make and wear it myself. :) I'll just add it to my book of possibles for local Brides.

BTW, if you really like it, I'm located in Orlando Florida. I can alter it however you like.

Update 2:

Problem solved. I changed the neckline. I think it looks better now because the top has the same flowlines as the bottom. Plus I don't think I'd look good in that kind of neckline, so I'm not as horribly tempted to make it for myself.

    church? Other peoples weddings?

A freind of mine wanted to have an occasion to wear a formal dress. She said that kids get all the fun. So she had a "oscar party". People got to dress up as hollywood stars or anything they wanted. I went as a "sit in" Wore a formal dress and had fun! (sit in's a the oscars are normal people that are dressed nice and take the place of a famous person when they get up to use the john)

    We were watching the Oscars.

you know it would be romantic to renew your wedding vows on your anniversary. you've been married for about 3 yrs so thats a good time. maybe save it for that occasion. it'll be like your wedding all over again :D

otherwise, i guess occasions that are close to family like sweet sixteens even since they are really fancy nowadays, or anniversary parties or etc.

its a little harder to wear this dress since its white but im sure you'll manage to be able to wear it again. :D btw, how does the dress look?

a train??? OMG! Perhaps if your marriage doesn't work out, you can wear it next time. Especially with the colored accents. How about a play wear you're the bride?

Maybe to a ball? Or put it on a mannequin, so you can stare at it forever. I love just laying on my bed & staring at the clothes that I particularly like because it makes me feel so full of myself (shh don't tell :D). Maybe I'm just weird ? x]

sometimes when girls have sweet sixteen or parties or whatever they do themes, i've been to plenty of parties were people have had to wear either a black or white dress

White is VERY hard to pull off. Maybe a very formal party...other tha that, I have no suggestions.

OMG. I can tell by your phrasing that you think "vow renewal" is a normal and expected thing.
