We don't celebrate it. Nor do we celebrate the massacre of Catholics that have been killed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Africa and the US. The Klan was still killing Catholics in the south not too long ago.
If you look at the massacre politically, the Queen ordered the eradication of the Protestants because it was a threat to her crown. I seriously doubt the Pope was gleeful. It was a horrible time in history, full of turmoil and hardship, but if you look at history anywhere during the Middle Ages it was pretty tumultuous everywhere.

The Pope also blessed the Italian air force as it left to bomb a defenceless Abyssinia just before WW II. It was the good Catholic pontiff endorsing the putting to death of the enemy. Bless you my son.

We do not celebrate it. It is a horrible human mistake in history. We remember the horrors of it and learn from our mistakes. The same way we Americans remember Hiroshima. With sadness and regret.
