Question for a Muslim. Subject: Death?

I understand what happens to a Muslim man who dies. But what of the woman?

Serious answers please. Only those who believe or knowledgeable in Islam should answer. If you simply believe a body rots and that there are no such things as souls, then it would be of no benefit for you to answer. You'll be wasting your time.

Update:

I appreciate the answers so far. but I wanted to know the answer as far as rewards. The men get virgins, but what do the women get?

Update 2:

Thats an interesting statement lyana. Didn't know that

To clarify, men do not get virgins. This is a common mis-interpretation that is used to trick young men into doing things they do not really want to do.

In heaven, everyone is surrounded by "houri" which are attractive companions that are not specified as either male or female.

    Hi,

    Here's the Islamic view:

    1) Muslims do not believe that the body just rots. We believe that death occurs when the soul is taken out of the body. (Quran, Chapter 56, Verses 83-87). We believe in a hereafter where you are rewarded or punished according to your deeds. While everyone knows that the body rots ofcourse, Muslims believe that every human being will be revived in the hereafter (Quran, Chapter 36, Verses 78-79).

    2) What happens to a person after death is dependent on her/his deeds and intentions and on the grace of God. Being a man or a woman has absolutely nothing to do with what happens to you after death. (Quran, Chapter 34, Verses 4-5)

    I hope that helps.

    :-)

Source(s): Quran, Chapter 56, Verses 83-87: "Why, then, when (the soul) comes up to the throat (of the dying) (83) And you are at that moment looking (84) - And We are nearer unto him than you are, but you see not - (85) Why then, if you are not in bondage (unto Us), (86) Do you not force it back, if you are truthful? (87)" Quran, Chapter 36, Verses 77-81: "Has not man seen that We have created him from sperm? Yet lo! he is an open opponent. (77) And he has coined for Us a similitude, and has forgotten the fact of his creation, saying: Who will revive these bones when they have rotted away? (78) Say: He will revive them Who produced them at the first, for He is Knower of every creation, (79) Who has appointed for you fire from the green tree, and behold! you kindle from it. (80) Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the like of them? Aye, that He is! for He is the All-Wise Creator, (81)" Quran, Chapter 34, Verses 3-5: "Those who disbelieve say: The Hour will never come unto us. Say: Nay, by my Lord, but it is coming unto you surely. (He is) the Knower of the Unseen. Not an atom's weight, or less than that or greater, escapes Him in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a clear Record, (3) That He may reward those who believe and do good works. For them is pardon and a rich provision. (4) But those who strive against Our revelations, challenging (Us), theirs will be a painful doom of wrath. (5)"

The Book Pertaining to Paradise, Its Description, Its Bounties and Its Intimates (Kitab Al-Jannat wa Sifat Naimiha wa Ahliha) [040:6782] Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: I have prepared for My pious servants which the eye has seen not, and the ear has heard not and no human heart has ever perceived such bounties leaving aside those about which Allah has informed you. He then recited:" no soul knows What comfort has been hidden for thein".

This applies to both man and woman.

God says in the Quran "Those who believe and do righteous deeds- they are the best of creatures. Their reward is with Allah. Gardens of Eternity, beneath which rivers flow; they will dwell therein for ever; Allah well pleased with them, and they with Him." (Chapter 98, verses 7-8)

The address here is to everyone who believes and does righteous deeds...this does not distinguish between men and women... the reward is Paradise and the pleasure of God.

God also says: "O humankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (and not that you may despise each other). Indeed, the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he/she who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). (Chapter 49, verse 13)

It is clear from this verse that it doesn't matter if you are male or female, black, white, green or blue, the most honoured in the sight of God is the one who is the most pious.

With regards to companions in paradise, the misconception is that they are virgin women for men. Not the case, they are beautiful companions for BOTH men and women.

Well, As far as i know (but ALLAH knows best) that a man and a woman are equally punished after death for their bad deeds (but its upto ALLAH if ALLAH wants to forgive that person because of any good deed he/she has done in life which pleased ALLAH very much). If you elaborate your question that what exactly you want to know about then i can might give you source to look at or answer it.
