My wrist is injured too. I think it could be a sprain but it's most likely a pinched nerve. When it's reinjured, I have to immobilize it with a wrist support for several days. I still have all my strength with the support, but it doesn't allow my wrist to flex which causes the pain. I also have to be careful when I take the support off to not hurt it again. I use the kind of support that has the hard pieces on top of the hand, and under the wrist. It holds my hand at about a 45* angle to my wrist.

I can't believe you would give up such a wonderful gift! If I was allowed to be playing hockey I would be doing it right now! I have to say of all the questions I've ever read this one is the most disgraceful. All I have to say is you may think that now but in a few years you will regret giving up a wonderful gift for such a stupid thing as using a laptop. I'm sorry if that sounds like a rant, but I am quite unamused! To answer your question, I don't think you should do anything.

Wrap it and ice it off and on. The tissue is most likely still enflamed, so you should take tylonal and other pain relievers, things that will help taking down the swelling. And don't lift on it for a few days. Give it time to heal.
