Hey Carolina. I'm hispanic too and I dye my own hair as well as my moms. We don't go to the Salon whenever we need to dye it. First off, if the dye you have in it is black, it might be tough because they say black dye is hard to dye over or get rid of.
Go to a beauty supply store and talk to the owner. Let her know what you're looking to do and ask her for tips. Usually spanish owned beauty supplies will give you good tips on how to do your own hair.
If you can't find a beauty supply in your area, CVS or Walgreens works too (I get my dye there). They have streaking or highlighting systems there.

I'm hispanic, and I normally color my hair at home. The only concern I have is that I too colored my hair black once (my natural color is so close to black I don't know why I did it though), and I found that nothing I put over it would show up. I went through a phase where I wanted jet black hair with burgundy highlights, tried it, and they didn't change the black at all. Since I got rid of the black I have never recommend that anyone color their hair that particular shade. It's too hard to mess with. Just sharing my experience. Good luck though!

i had them dowm when i was younger. . . you can just go to sallie store and ask them for that color and when your doing it just make sure you have someone helping you get chunks to add the paint. . . or if you want highlights of that color buy the hat and use strip by strip
