What is the difference between spring rolls and summer rolls?
I've eaten both, and seen recipes for both, and as far as I can tell, they're pretty much the same thing.

The problem is that people in the U.S. think that these are interchangeable (even in some restaurants) when in fact they are not.
The difference is in the wrappers and the cooking method.
Spring rolls are always friend and are made with flour based wrappers which are also used for egg rolls. In the store these will be called spring roll/egg roll wrappers.
Summer Rollers on the other hand are made with rice based wrappers (in the store these will be called rice papers) and these are very white (almost clear). These are simple soaked in hot watter (you buy them dry) and other than the filling are not "cooked" as such. These are served at room temperature not hot out of the fryer as Spring Rolls are.
Spring rolls are crunchy and summer rolls are much more soft in nature.
Both are very delicious but certainly not the same thing.

From recipes I've seen on the internet and in cookbooks, spring rolls are fried, summer rolls aren't.
