can't remember the title of this movie (hallmark)?

I watched a movie years ago on the hallmark channel. Its about slavery, and how one slave taught a lil slave girl how to read...the movie starts off as a woman giving birth, and the midwife promised the child that he/she would not be sold.....when the baby was born a girl, the owner said he would want to sell her, but the midwife (named Dillie) told him that he couldn't, because a promise had been made....and the owner ended up selling the child's mother, leaving the child to dillie's care.....my memory is very vague.....if you know the title of this movie, it would really help me =). thanks !
