fences are the onl way, deer will eat anything in sight when the area is open for them
Source(s): Ok I have heard of another way, try this- a male human who is a meateater would urinate on the area you want to keep the deer from. The deer will smell this and be scared away to not come in. - 1 decade ago
i saw this sprinkler system that was cool the heads of the sprinkler had motion sensors on them and they where pointed along side of the flower and when ever you would cross those sensors the sprinklers would shoot water out to scare the animals away i know becuase when i was looking for the gas meter i got sprayed by one of them i work for the gas co its pretty effective becuase the flowers were never touched and this place has deer going through this area

Well I tried mixing this concoction with 2 parts milk, one part water and then put it in a spray bottle and sprayed my flowers. It seemed to work really well and my flowers didn't get eaten. I've also heard that putting a plastic owl in your yard helps too lol....Hope this helps : )

My Golden Retriever barks up a storm, and loves to chase them if we let her out. We have beautiful flowers.

Get some hair from your barber and put that down. I have tried this and had success.
