I'm sick of schools like LSU OSU and UGA do you think if you play a D2 or just a regular cup cake you even belong in the championship

It's like Hawaii last year. They only played one good team. Boise State. They think they are so good but when they played a really good team that got killed in the sugar bowl and today Florida dominated. When the longhorns won the national championship they scheduled Ohio State they beat OU and some other not bad teams. So yeah your right cup cakes don't = championship. If you play cupcakes you don't deserve even a shot at the national championhsip but if I was in the SEC I would schedule some cupcakes because the SEC is very hard.

Since you asked, I'll tell you that I think it's irrelevant. What is relevant is what a team does in the biggest game of the year. Since LSU has won National Championships twice in the last decade under Saban and Miles, others need to prove they belong on the same field with LSU. Most don't. Most won't. I don't see people lining up to get on their schedule. Appalachian State showed a lot of guts to schedule the big boys. Unfortunately for them, they did not schedule Michigan for this year's opener. But they're a better team for playing LSU. Perhaps that is why they consistently win their Division. In fact, I would venture to say that Appalachian State gave LSU a better game today than most teams outside the SEC would. There is little depth in the PAC, BIG 10, and other conferences. And as the post-season consistently demonstrates, even the best teams from other conferences have great difficulty giving the top teams in the SEC a challenge. If the above makes you sick, you have a lifetime of illness ahead of you, because people outside the south are not lining up to take on the SEC for their nonconference scheduling. Knowledgeable football fans know why.

LSU and UGA play in the SEC which is the most competitive conference in the nation. There are 6 top 25 teams in that conference and they play enough hard teams that they can afford to play an easy game. OSU doesn't play many hard teams so they need to beat USC and dominate everyone else to impress the BCS.

I'm a Trojan fan, but I have to admit the SEC is far better than the Pac-10. And there conference games alone are hard as hell. LSU has to play teams like Georgia, Tennesse, and Florida all in the same season. But the Buckeyes on the otherhand are a complete joke. The Big-10 is a Joke.

It is being proposed that NCAA I-A schools will not be allowed to play NCAA I-AA schools beginning next season.

No more BS games and no more "Michigan embarrassed by App State" headlines in the newspapers.

  • Exactly. SC may not have the tuffest conference, but are non conference schedule has to be one of the most difficult in the country,

So you are sick of Division 1A huh? Almost all of them play a cupcake game or two, usually what you get in week 1 and 2. It's like how the Pros have preseason.

Since there's no preseason in college football, I think many teams schedule cupcakes just to get into proper rhythm before they take on tougher opposition. Just my opinion.
