Do you think about wearing a Yankee T-shirt with Jeter 2 on it?
The other day I was walking on Old Winchester Hill a beautiful part of the UK countryside when I encountered a man wearing just such a T- shirt. I made no comment but quickly put on my Boston Red Sox 2004 World Series Champions cap (Sorry, I don't have the 2007 one). Then I re-passed him. He didn't say anything. Do you think he even knows who Jeter is?
I'm sorry you didn't realise I was being tongue in cheek. I respect fans of all teams and there is no question that Jeter is an outstanding player. By the way his accent was definitely British when he spoke to his girlfriend. Over here it is fashionable for young people to wear baseball shirts & hats (Yankees ones are the most popular) but I don't think they always know much about baseball. Yes, I probably should have spoken to him but just up & talking to strangers doesn't come easy to me.

Edit: ahh...the light goes on! Sorry for getting all preachy. Just so many questions from Yankee and Red Sox fans hating on each other, and I didn't get the joke. Probably similar to all the guys you see in North America with soccer jerseys and most don't even know which team's jersey they're wearing. (I had a co-worker who often wore a Juventus jersey and when I asked if he was a Juventus fan he said "oh, is that whose jersey this is?" He just liked the stripes.

I know what its like over there (lived there for 5 years) its possible because there is no way he bought the jeter shirt in the UK. I looked and looked and could never find them, just various yankees hats. Maybe he bought it on a visit to the US?
Also i heard of something called the "Cardiff Yankee Fan Club", has real yankee fans and stuff.
Winchester huh? i went there a few times when i lived in england. Fun little town. Lots to do.
