wanting to be an EMT?

what types of things should i do now? i am in 12th grade.

also physical requirements and job outlook?

    Yep...your best bet is to look into it at your local community college. You need to be 18 to be an EMT. You will have to pass some basic math and english requirements prior to being accepted to EMT school since you have not taken any collage classes. I am not sure where you are located so i am not sure if how your state works. In TN most EMT training is at the IV level. So when i did it, in one semester i was EMT-IV certified. Physical...well you are going to be able to lift a certain amount. Depending on where you want to get hired some places require some more specific requirements. And job outlook is normally pretty good, it takes longer to get hired at some of the bigger departments. I mean there will always be a need for ambulances, its one job that can not be automated!.

    So, now...find a college close to you that offers programs in emergency services. If you post the general location of where you are i can find one in just a few min.

    Check with your local community college. That's where I got my training. As far as I know there aren't any physical requirements. Lets face it with so much violence today. You will never be out of work.
