Are there laws against threatening others via the postal system?

A daughter in military training is getting threatening mail from a former member of the class who got kicked out due to sexual harrassment. Are there federal laws against regular mail stalking/threats?

    Under the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice), He can be held for harassment if he is still under military control. Under civilian law,Contacting the Postal Inspector,and verifying the threat will make it stop immediately. It is commonly known as "Communicating a Threat. It will be dealt with!!!!!!!!

    Most definitely. Mail in the USA is a federal thing, and they do not look at threats lightly. If the perpetrator is known, report to the Post Office at least; they should gladly get investigation going.

    Absolutely... have her show the letters to her Drill Sgt. and or have her request to see the training companies Captain with the report of what's going on. They will be able to help her out.

    The threat is one charge and using the mail to make the threat is actually an additional charge.

    Of course there are. A threat is a threat. It's easier to prove one that came through the mail too.

    there's a video on you tube from fox information approximately violent spammers suggested as anyonous, and it somewhat is occurring throughout. it somewhat is a shame which you will run into this by way of only attempting to have an smart verbal substitute.
