Why is this the discussion?

Out of all that is going on in politics and the planet. Why is Palin's daughter's pregnancy all consuming?

Update:

Mr. Sullivan. None of us liberal, con, independent control our children. We do the best we can and hope, pray for the best.

I do agree with the Republican hypocrusy. However this also proves regardless of who you are or what you believe. Sh!t happens.

Update 2:

oops typo- hypocrisy

OMG...thank you! It's ridiculous and comparable to the right attacking Obama's religion or where he went to first grade. There are plenty of real issues for us to beat them on...like this...

She was the director of an independent political group organized by the now embattled Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens. Palin’s name is listed on 2003 incorporation papers of the “Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.,” a 527 group that could raise unlimited funds from corporate donors. The group was designed to serve as a political boot camp for Republican women in the state. She served as one of three directors until June 2005, when her name was replaced on state filings.

Last October on Fox News Sunday, John McCain said, “The 527s need to be eliminated.”

Stevens is hardly a model of “excellence in public service.” He was indicted in July “on seven felony counts and she still stands by him. He is a close political ally and recently convicted for taking money from big oil illegally! Now THERE is a story. Especially now in the day of high gas prices, drilling, ANWAR, etc. It should be shouted loudly by the dems, but the ones on this board, apparently would rather give fodder to the right.

Imagine what the convo would be if this were a democrat's unwed daughter being pregnant. This is a deal because it opens another conversation that needs to be discussed. Palin is very vocal about how she believes that all schools should only teach abstinence only sex education classes. Well, now she has learned what comes of that. Kids don't know how to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancies and/or diseases if they aren't taught about it. The turn a blind eye approach that she and her republican party advocates is naive and absurd.

On one hand though, I do believe that we should not drag her daughter into the whole political arena. I do believe the sex ed topic is something that does need to be discussed, and this situation has opened that door.

The DEMS are desperate, any reason to put her down is valid, but hey the dems don't use smear tactics they just get others to do it for them.

Just as the experience issue has come back to bite them (defending BHO's lack of it) makes it very difficult to criticize Palin with as much or more than him.

Will everyone making an issue of Palins daughter getting pregnant at 17 have egg on their face a few years from now when BHO's daughters reach the age of ragging hormones and rebel against their Dad and make a mistake? I guess not, they would just be spirited off to have an abortion we certaintly do not want to punish them by having a child.

I just answered a question a few down from yours. Has anyone else noticed that most of those that are complaining about Palins daughter, answering and agreeing with the question have opened the accounts today.

Additional: Where were all these rightous people during this

Because Palin could very well be the next VP of our country. Now all of this is coming out about Bristol (prego daughter) and the supposed scandal with trying to get her ex brother in law fired from the State Troopers in Alaska. I personally would like to know these things about someone that wants to make decisions for our country.

Because the wingnuts can't let it go?

They want to make it out that we are attacking her? If you go to any liberal blogs the note it as news but say it is not their business and move on to the McCain sideshow.

Because the conservatives were bragging about her being so good & mighty but now they need to get off their high horse & check out her dirty secrets. It also points out McCain's lack of judgment.

    Its not.

The issue is why did McCain pick this totally unknown, unqualified woman who he met only twice, who has been nothing but trouble, to be the Vice President of the United States.

In short...Has McCain lost his freakin mind?
