Ah huh, shall we see, the .243 is unquestionably a 6mm. The .270 is .27 high quality, and the .30-30, .308 and .30-06 are all .30 high quality. whether, each and all the ideas you have listed different than the .30-30 are based on an identical cartridge case and that's the .30-06. All inherently very precise and all would be a stable selection. information first. Now i'd evaluate a pair issues, is that this hilly country ? Open fields, or woods. The .30-30 has killed extra deer than the different. I trust the different gent that pictures on deer with the .30-30 ought to be limited to in my ideas 150 yards or much less. Now to the inspiration of this ingredient. in case you have been to own basically one rifle for searching season ( i do no longer propose for floor hog searching or taking pictures crows ) the .270 or .30-06 is the terrific all around decision of those listed. they have been around perpetually. Ammo will continually be available for them. Bullet decision whether would lean to the .30-06 because of the fact it supplies you an prolonged linage and so a brilliant decision of loadings for each purpose. in basic terms the easy old 150 grain comfortable component spitzer bullet is reliable for extraordinarily much all purposes. The .270 is a necked down .30-06 case. this means it initially began as a guy taking a .30-06 cartridge and making the neck smaller to hold a .27 high quality bullet somewhat than a .30 high quality bullet. WHY ? nicely the decreased length and for this reason weight of the .27 high quality bullet would be speeded as much as a extra robust velocity.larger velocity means a flatter trajectory. sure, this means in the journey that your zeroed in at 2 hundred yards the standards of interest would be close adequate at say a hundred yards and out to 3 hundred yards. The 30-06 if zeroed at 2 hundred yards ought to be 2" extreme at a hundred yards and as much as 3" low at 3 hundred yards. permit's say reason (no longer understanding the place you're) interior the final public of the US a shot at a deer in many cases is around a hundred-150 yards the place one would use a rifle somewhat than a slug gun. How plenty rifle does one definitely pick for that activity. Now if elk or moose come into the image even a .30-06 would be considered marginal by using some. i've got confidence the .30-06 or .270 is often a brilliant selection for North American interest. wish you delight on your papaw's present for something of your existence. i'm particular he desires you an identical. that's how searching is going.

Do you mean a weatherby rifle chambered for 270 winchester?
Or do you mean a <insert brand name here> rifle chambered for 270 weatherby?
Anyways, most deer are shot within 100 yards and 95% of them are shot within 200 yards
If you are going to lie about your shooting skills, make your lies more believable. Few people can shoot 1 MOA using a benchrest. Fewerer still can do it standing up, like how most hunting shots are taken.
The rifle and either cartridge will be more than adequate in accuracy for your concern, and the eadequatell be more than adeuqate as well.
The weakness in your setup is #1 shooter ability and #2 the cheap scope may loose zero easily

At 400 yards the wind drift on a .270 Weatherby Magnum is about 14 inches.
At 500 yards the wind drift goes up to about 23 inches.
Hope this helps.

Weatherby's are excellent rifles. I own two. The rifle can do it's job.
I don't own a Barska scope, so I cannot offer first hand experience.
The question here is can you hit a target at 400 meters? Not many people can.

The only weak link in your program is the Barsca Scope... The .270 is perfect for deer...
Those Barsca scopes are generally low quality and I cant imagine they would be very accurate beyond 200 yards... Consider a Nikon or Leupold...

With that round and that gun it will depend on how good you are. The weapon and cartridge are easily good to 300 M. 400 M with any round takes practice but this is one that will do it. Check the ballistics of this and the other chambering you want.
