Can America do better than McCain and Obama?

I am pretty unimpressed with both McCain and Obama at this point. Obama snowed me with his good speaking abilities last week, but I quickly realized...hey all he is, is a good speaker...his politics suck. And then there's McCain...set to follow the same old same old routine as Bush and then he chooses a pretty unqualified person as a VP! Do you think we can do better than these two?! If so, who would you have chosen?

Obama is VERY smart and more importantly he is a good manager. Frankly I am unimpressed with is speaking, I think he is too flowery and long winded (but he IS a politician).

He is a good debater, but not great.

He has good ideas, but they need to be refined by a pragmatic team.

That is where management skills come in. He seems to have the natural "feel" for how much authority to delegate, and does not relinquish it easily. He keeps with his original goal, although the plan may change.

Unfortunately it will not become apparent how effective he can really be until he has the resources of the president with a full cabinet and intelligence information, but just his campaign is some indication.

He beat the Clinton machine. He got his way on VP choice. AND...most notably...for the first time in memory, the Democrats had a smooth and energetic convention (despite the Hillary thing) and a well oiled and united machine headed into the final stretch.

As far as I'm concerned Obama's speech making is the least of his talents. His college career (see Wiki) is un-BE-LIEV-able. That is when he came of age. His community organizing I guess was good, I don't know what that is frankly.

But he is DRIVEN and HIGHLY INTELLIGENT (and he could be rich but he is a public servant) THAT is what makes him like JFK, not is speechifying.

He is a perfect President for this particular point in history. We couldn't be any luckier that he is available.

Absolutely, with out a doubt. What the hell does Obama know about war. The coward didn't even have the guts to join the military. That tells me alot about a person. John McCain knows first hand about the war and what it will take to protect this great country. Death before Dishonor these are words that John McCain lives by. And if you love America your vote should be for the true American John McCain.

No, because of how our political process has become. Most people would not want to expose their family and friends to such scrutiny.

There used to be a respect for the position of president and for the people who were running, but that is basically gone now. Thus ensuring that only a certain type of person will actually be determined enough to run for such a high office. If you've had any bit of normal life experience at all, you will be attacked for it. You will be attacked for being a human being and making mistakes in your past. Not many people would find the cost to be worth it.

None of this can be taken back, Pandora's box has been opened, I just see it getting worse as time goes on.

    The million dollar question.

    How about McKinney.

Oh yeah wait, we live in a country of bipartisanship.

It's time to choose the "lesser of two evils"
