What is a good brand of Kava Kava?

I have some major anxiety issues (I worry about everything) and those extend to medication - I'm worried they'll make me worse.

I've been reading about Kava Kava though and it sounds great! I'd love to try it, but I want to make sure I'm getting a good batch. Sites I've read have said to make sure only the root is used in the drink, and some even said to look for a "waka grade" Kava Kava because those use only the finest part of the root. 'awa and tuday were other terms I was told to look for.

What is a good brand? I don't care about the taste, just the relaxing/calming quality.

Thank you! :)

kava kava is not the solution you are looking for. it is also very damaging to your liver, more so than alcohol. besides, kava is a root, not some proprietary supplement blend. thats like asking what a good brand of watermelon is. check out l-theanine, st john's wort, and 5htp

konakavafarm.com has great kava. I ordered some and mixed up a super potent blend. Made my lips feel tingly and I felt very chill. Is it placebo? I don't know...but I liked how it felt.

The claims of it causing liver damage are difficult to validate due to different proprietary blends of kava. The damage to the liver may be caused by using the wrong parts of plants. The konakavafarm site has information regarding safety that you can read as well as great recipes.

Kava Kava is both ineffective in double-blind placebo studies but, to confirm above, it is MUCH worse for your liver than alcohol. Not good stuff at all.
