Do Yorkie pups ears stand up on their own at a certain age?
I just recently purchased two male Yorkies that are exactly 3 months old today. I have had an adult Yorkie in the past so her ears were already standing up. Is there something I need to be doing or do they stand up on their own and at what age usually?

If the parents ears stand erect the puppies should to. Some breeders will tape the ears , but can cause damage if you don't know what your doing. Also, lots of hair on a puppies ears will keep them from standing. You could try to trim the hair off. Most of the time ears are completely erect at 4 months.

Try calling the breeder that you got them from.
The ears of the parents should give you an idea as to what the ear set of your pups will be. By the time they are six months old you should be able to tell if your pups ears will be standing up. By breed standards they should stand up and look alert. However there are always exceptions to the rule. Some people recommend taping of the ears however not only do I think that it is cruel, I have yet to see it work out!!
Good luck

It depends on the dog, and you can ask the breeder or your vet what they think, if you need to intervene or not. When puppies are teething, their ears tend to droop for awhile then stand back up. So that maybe what's going right now. My Shepherd-mix scared me a bit when suddenly his ears started to droop again, but the vet said it was due to teething, and he was right. They stood right back up. Also, corrective taping a dogs ears that are bred to stand up, like a Shepherds, really isnt that uncomfortable. It's usually something like a 'Breath Right' strip as mentioned above. Now CUTTING and then posting and taping a dog's ears like a Dobermann or Great Dane, that is uncomfortable.
