i have a 94 acura integra and Ive noticed this loud sort of whistling noise when I start it. Its becoming really annoying because as am driving and reving the car its seems to be making this jolt ahead. The noise sounds like a whistling noise someone told me to spray wd 40 on my timing because its something that happens to honda cars...But I aint sure..Does anyone else know what it could be??

no offense but slap your friend across the face really hard and tell him hes and idoit jk, but for real DONT DO THAT youll just have the belt slip of the cam and then youll be in over your head. if you dont know what it is take it to a mechanic.few things you can do though is check the tension on all your belts, and check for wear, also if you have a Cold air Intake it also make a whitsle sound too from my expeirence with an integra the only time i had that happen is when i needed to have the a/c belt replaced

im an integra proprietor myself. I have a 1999 integra gs. and the clarification u lost is because the gsr has one hundred seventy horsepower and the 2001 6 cylinder eclipse has quite a lot 240. i'd positioned a vtech engine which delivers like 20 horsepower and positioned more desirable effective headers and a fat air clear out. and the integra is a million.8 liter engine even as the v6 eclipse is 3.0. so it has a larger engine meaning more desirable torque and ability. he probable did not even beat you via that a lot because you install all those helpful elements. the substantial reason hw beat you replaced into larger engine, v6, and had more desirable horsepower. my brother has a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse GS-T spyder and its swifter. he beats my motor vehicle continuously because i havent positioned something in it yet. only save rebuilding your engine and positioned good elements and youll be instantly.

Bad idea to spray WD40 on the timing belt! That would only make it worst. Check your timing belt for cracks on the under side of the belt(The opposite of the flat side that has the groves) if it has a lot of little cracks then it's time to replace your belt. You can go to Autozone, Kragen, or Pep Boys or what ever you have near you for auto parts. Belts usually range between $15 to $30. If it's easy to get to your belts then it shouldn't be hard to replace them yourself. Or you can just spend more money and have a shop do it.

dont get any oil or whatsoever on the timing belt. it can get loose and either rip or slip off resulting in a ruined engine. just replace it or let the car warm up a bit before driving.
