Why do you feel compelled to vote for 'the lesser of two evils?'?

Isn't it still a vote for an evil? If there were a candidate that you agreed with on >95% of the issues, but would likely get <10% of the vote, would you still vote for that candidate? Why or why not?

I would, now, having voted for Bush as the lesser of two evils, twice, and having seen how that played out. Especially when I discussed it with friends who also only voted for him as the lesser of two evils.

I agree with every single thing Obama has said & I disagree with every sinlge thing McCain is for. So I can not imagine how anyone can be voting for the lesser of 2 evils. You can't believe tabloid jouranlism & I wonder what they have heard that makes them against both....One is for encouraging jobs back to this country the other is for what is happening now. One if against a person's right to chose & the other knows their will be abortons as long as we have reasons for people to have unwanted pregnancies, he believes in doctors care rather that going back to what happened before abortion was legal....So one is for the American people & the other is against everyone unless they can put money in his pocket.
