Accutane side affects with your adolescent male?

I have a 16 year old son who takes Accutane. I know it comes with very serious side effects, I read the I pledge book. Is anyone having problems with attitude. I know he's 16 and going through puberty and all that but where does the attitude from puberty begin and possible side effects from the medication kick in?

I'm trying not to take it too far but he swings from one side to the other. Am I the only one going through this? Anyone else?

Please only serious answers only!!!!

Thanks so much.

Update:

The side effects have been okay as far as the chapped lips and stuff. I can handle this. It's just the attitude that's killing me. He's really a good kid most of the time. As far as stunting his growth, i don't think so, he's not quite 6'2"

Well I think it stunted my growth when I took it a couple years back, You should wait until he is at least 18 so he can finish growing to his full height. As well I used to go running/jogging and it basically gave me severe arthritis in my knees, it got so sever I could not bend over, otherwise I could not get up again.l still have arthritis in my knees 5 years later (im only 22).

After taking it I can no longer run/jog at all. And after all that I still got acne back! No I would never take this stuff again, I thought at the time the side affects would not affect me because I don't have any allergies etc. But they did, and they had permanent effects.

This is on top of the super chapped lips etc.

    Accutane I Pledge

I just got off accutane and the side effects weren't too bad. Your body will get used to the medication after the first month or so. But dry skin and tiredness were the onl two side effects that affected me.

  • I took accutane as a teen and the only side effects I got were chapped lips, pealy skin, ashy skin, and a tremendous rise in my triglyceride level.
