I recently got my first tattoo this past weekend, and all I can say is RESEARCH! RESEARCH! RESEARCH! I just typed in what I wanted to find on yahoo or google, and looked at the pictures they had. But as you will probably find out, don't get something so detailed, because then they would have to make the tattoo bigger then you probably want it. Beware of people who say "yeah I'll do that detailed of a tattoo, that small size that you want." The tattoo will begin to blob together in a few years and won't look good. These are people just wanting to take your money and not thinking of your happiness in 5 years. What do they care? They got your money 5 years ago. Also keep in mind the tattoo parlor you plan on getting it at, they most likely have a book full of butterflies that they have done, because it is a common tattoo. Good Luck! And as for those people making negative comments about tattoos, ignore them. Yes you'll feel clean after you take a shower. A Tattoo is a sense of you (or it's supposed to be). It's removable, a little pricey, but I'm sure some of those snobby people making it sound so demeaning, can afford it. And there's always the option of covering it with something better.

A tattoo artist should only create what you want. If the artist designs it, it's not yours.

What is your style because there are many creative tattoos, but its you that makes it your own. If you can't decide what you might want, you should wait a little bit longer before getting a tattoo. Just don't get your name or anyone else's.
