In what countries will the traditional moment of silence be canceled out of fear of insulting people?

Of course I'm referring to how a moment of silence in effigy of 9/11 was canceled because the Belgian government was afraid of insulting...certain members of the constituent.

Update:

Tom, Good plan.

Update 2:

fdm215, true, less than before, but lets remember that the World Trade Center was full of representatives from non-US nations.

Update 3:

Darwin, true no nation has to hold a memorial for what happened, but since a great deal of nations had representatives in those buildings it was a true international disaster, it was not just against the United States but the Western World in general.

Not many. I don't know that many countries observe it now.

What is your authority? Why should any other country have a "moment of silence" for what was an American tragedy?

It seems you are looking to make something from nothing.

I do not plan on being silent. Being silent is just one way we insult those that lost their lives because of incompetency. I will not reward "Incompetency"
