Is there an aftermarket 6 speed manual transmission available for the Scion tC?
I've had my tC for a little over a year now, and it's a great car, but I do think that for going 70 MPH, it could do a little better gas mileage wise.

I was curious if the Opel/Vauxhall/Saturn Astra came with a turbo-diesel engine, and if so, which models and will Saturn bring it over to the United States?
1 AnswerGMC1 decade agoHow is Auto Racing considered elitist?
With the cancellation of the Detroit Grand Prix for 2009, I read that one of the reasons the race was canceled because Auto Racing was elitist. Could someone explain this to me? The race was canceled due to the economic situation for the city, which hasn't really changed over the last five years. So Detroit could build new stadiums for the Suberbowl, but not maintain a race weekend?
I thought the idea behind sporting events was to bring money into the city. Now even if Auto Racing was elitist, so what? wouldn't the city like to attract people with money?

1 AnswerOther - Auto Racing1 decade agoEconomic decline causes races to be canceled?
For those who have not heard, the Detroit Grand Prix for 2009 has been canceled. The city is stating that it cannot afford to support the race, but isn't the idea of having a race in the city to bring in revenue for the city? I'm going to miss the AMLS cars this year...Oh well, I guess Road America will have to get my money instead of supporting my home city.

Is anyone else tired of all of the Christmas hype coming up so soon? I've seen Christmas decorations up before Halloween! Thanksgiving (in the United States) seems to be getting passed over!
6 AnswersChristmas1 decade agoScion TC Windshield Vents?
Whenever I turn the heater or fan onto the defrost setting, my car looses some power. I was wondering if using the windshield vents caused the AC to automatically turn on. I know that did not happen on my previous two cars.
1 AnswerScion1 decade agoIn what countries will the traditional moment of silence be canceled out of fear of insulting people?
Of course I'm referring to how a moment of silence in effigy of 9/11 was canceled because the Belgian government was afraid of insulting...certain members of the constituent.
4 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhat do you think the cause of the Panoz at the ALMS race on Belle Isle?
It seemed to me that the car was coming loose by turns 4-6 (where I was sitting) towards the end. I don't recall the car pitting for tires, and I don't know if they did a driver change. So was it driver fatigue? Or a need for a new set of tires?
1 AnswerOther - Auto Racing1 decade agoAdd ons for a 2008 Scion TC
My 2008 TC has nearly reached its 5000 mile check up point, and I'm thinking of adding some additional options to it when I take it in. I'm looking at the quick shifter (although I should be able to test drive one of those before I make my decision) and I'm also going to look at the strut bars to lessen the body roll. Those are the only options that I'm looking at right now. Does anybody have any experience with those parts? Is the handling improved enough to justify the purchase?

5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhich cars do you think look better in the Le Mans GT1 Series?
Do you prefer the closed coupes or the open top Spyders? I used to watch the IMSA GT1 races back in the 80's and 90's and I always liked the coup styled cars. I never did care for the open top cars that are mostly racing in the series now. What does everyone else prefer?
4 AnswersOther - Auto Racing1 decade agoHow does an automatic transmission get better gas mileage than a manual?
I've been noticing that on a lot of new cars, the four speed automatic transmissions are labeled as having better gas mileage than standard transmissions. Stick shifts have always been known to provide better mileage and performance.
5 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoHyundai Gas Mileage?
I was looking at buying a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon, and while I was looking at the stickers on the other vehicles, I notices that the six cylinder Hyundai SUV's have a better gas mileage than the four cylinder, manual transmission (and of course automatic) Tiburon.
Can anyone explain this? The employees at the dealer couldn't answer my question.

7 AnswersDodge1 decade agoPeople are quick to point out chick cars, so what's a "manly" car?
Keep in mind that I would only drive a car with a stick shift. No automatics or auto-stick garbage. I do prefer a small car as well since I live in the city, and enjoy good mileage.

Besides Judism, why did the more modern Western Religions apprear so late in human history? If God wanted to be worshipped why did Christianity not become popular until after 200 ACE, and then why did God wait to send the Archangel to Mohammed in the 600's ACE?

It seems that as Chriatinaity spread that Rome began to decline, eventually being tax exempt and bishops (Especally the Bishop of Milan) gaining too much influance over the emperors. Finally the Alter of Victory being removed from the Senate. Any opinions?
14 AnswersHistory1 decade agoCan the HMMWV Really still be considered a replacement for the Jeep?
It seems to me that the HMMWV should be reclassifies as an Armored Car (in the classic sense as in the M-8 Greyhound, or the AB-40 series) instead of a simple transport vehical. Just the way they have evolved in the last four to five years is absolutly amazing.
