How do you interpret this ? " You can put lipstick on a Pig, it's still a Pig ".?
The Republicans took this phrase and ran wild with it. This is an old saying that at one time McCain used. Now that Obama used this , the Republican Party , is twisting the real meaning of it. Using it to make Obama look like he was making pun at Govenor Palin.

Well there is no doubt that he was.. the "PIG" is obviously meant to be McCain's campaign and the "LIPSTICK" is meant to be Palin. Sounds like a pun to me.

The problem was that it was applied in the context of a woman. At least that's the way it sounded. It sounded as if Obama was saying that Palin is a pig even if she uses lipstick. And thiswas followed by his stinky fish wrapped in a piece of paper called "Change" example.
Yes, McCain used this phrase as well. But he did so when speaking about healthcare.

It's a pig and by putting lipstick on it or a dress or shoes or a hat...It doesn't change that it's a pig. Dressing it up doesn't make a bit of difference. If Obama would have said any other animal I believe the Republicans would have still twisted it and vise versa.
