Do you feel that what you say can be key to your success or failure? How important are they? ?

In your experience, how effective have your words been in helping you to gain promotions, jobs, etc? Do you feel your words can be key to your success? Have there been times when you have seen words prevented either you or others from going through doors of opportunity?

    The way you speak can most certainly hold you back when it comes to job opportunities depending on what kind of job you have. A sloppy language filled with slang makes you look "stupid" in the eyes of many employers and they usually prefer people with at least half a brain. They way you speak and the words you use should fit with your profession. I've gotten the jobs I've had more because of how I speak and look than my other merits.

    While there is a limit as to how far a proper language can take you you'll still get further than if you don't know how to speak properly. IMO.

    I once told my crazy boss that she was crazy and that she needed help, that ended my chances of getting a better job at that place. So that's proof of words preventing an opportunity. =/
