Isn't it funny that Yahoo put religion and spirituality in the same category as mythology and folklore?

How does that make you feel?

Update:

Haha. Most of you got it.

I think it makes some people angry...

Well if you think about it they both fit in the category "Society and Culture". You ever think of that?

  • It's just under Society and Culture, and Religion, Spirituality, Mythology, and Folklore is all a part of Society and Culture.

No one "makes me" feel anything. Feelings are an autonomic response to reality as I perceive it. I am the only one responsible for what I do with my feelings, and they are never caused by any person. I believe God can and does cause me to have certain feelings when He is working in my heart, but only He has that power. As to the crux of your question, It does not surprise me that many people put spirituality and sin on a level of myth and folklore and magic, etc., etc.....

In fact, your question seems to indicate that you may be one of those people. If not, no offence intended. This disregard for the things of God will not change the truth. Hey, they laughed and scorned Jesus too. I'm in good company.

Do you not consider either Mythology and Folklore, or Religion and Spirituality to be part of Society and Culture?

No, not when that category is Society & Culture, and not when religion and mythology are really the same thing.

If people actuaally knew the correct usage of the word "myth", instead of thinking that it means something isn't true. it wouldn't bother them at all.

A religious belief could be 100% true in every way, it would still be a myth. Being a myth has nothing to do with validity at all.

Ignorance is what causes people to be angry about a non-issue, and ignorance is boundless.

Seeing as all religions are mythology, makes me feel slightly redundant. Then again, I'm thankful for the practically non-existent line of difference, because if I came into R&S and saw some idiot simpleton asking how to become a mermaid or a vampire (*for realz*) I'd flip out.

The odd thing to me is that they are not the same category.

The religion of today is the mythology of tomorrow. The only difference is the number of active believers.

Religious people seem to have a hard time seeing that.

    Hahaha.I'm sure there's a non-atheistic oriented explanation to this,but still it's quite cool to notice.;P

edit: Coming back to check out some of the other answers,I think people are overreacting about this and getting their pants in a bunch about literacy,etc.Lol....

PS:Yahoo is insisting upon correcting my "spelling mistake" 'Hahaha' into 'Bahama','Savana','Sahara' and the like.

They should be merged as by most definitions organized religion is just that, mythology and folklore.
