Permanent hair color came out WAY TOO DARK!!!?

I colored my hair on Monday with Nice & Easy #120A- darkest brown. It is permanent hair color. I have always done my own coloring with no problems. Well for some reason, it came out really much darker- it looks black! and then to make matters worse, there are streaks of my former lighter brown all throughout my hair! It is very obvious. My question is, can I go back to the store and buy another permanent hair color that is a shade lighter, like #119 or 118 and just start all over, or will that just make it worse??? Please help!

Re-colouring will make it darker, but don't worry it will fade in no time!

Being out in the sun fades your hair (not much luck if you live in england haha) and if you wash it thoroughly each time you wash it, it will fade a bit in about a week

good luck , and im sure it looks fine :)

I am a 20 veteran of do it yourself hair color and do not care for Nice and Easy. I use Loreal in Med Ash brown because I do not like the naturally red highlights that I have. My hair is naturally very dark brown but use the med brown because of the overly black look you describe. You might need a little professional help at this point. It is still possible to overprocess your hair even with dark shades of chemicals, so head to a trusted hairdresser. I get mine done professionally about once a year to insure the back and ends look the same as the front and roots.

No coloring over permanent hair color will only damage your hair it won't change the color. Trust me I color my hair myself and when I finally went to get it professionally colored they said they could not do it until the old color had grown out. What you can do to try to lighten the color though is to wash your hair with a little bit of laundry detergent it will help break down the color and lighten it a little. Use a good deep conditioner after wards though because it will make your hair a little dry, but it has worked for me in the past when I went to dark. Good luck!

sure it comes out . however the version between permanant shade and semi is ammonia. Ammonia PERMANANTLY alterations the colour on your hair and while the colour fades you've got a orangeish brassy tone. the guy made pigmnet would be bumped off(by a expert please) or you are able to bathe your hair with break of day Dish cleansing soap. it truly is going to strip lots of the colour out . Did you depart the colour on the recomended volume of time? Taking the colour off too quickly won't enable finished deposit of guy-made shade/ and depart a undesirable brassyness. What shade replaced into your hair first of all? darker or lighter than the chosen field shade. lots of those aspects play an element interior the superb consequence.

I did this once. I went to the beauty supply store and bought a stripper which bleaches your hair to a yellow orange bright horrible color then you re dye it the proper shade you will need to hot oil your hair quite a bit after because it does dry it out. Or just let it fade out or goto the beauty salon and see if they can do it.

It is always recommended that people who want black hair actually dye their hair the darkest brown that they can find. It will fade, don't worry. Next time, pick a shade or two up from that one.

Re coloring it will only make it darker, unless you use bleach, normally when you dye your hair it is the darkest when you do it, once you wash it a few times , it will lighten. Or wait a week and see a professional hairdresser.

    that happened to me.

the pigment didn't stick to my hair and it faded.

    just wash it regularly.

if it doesn't work you can get the colour stripped from your hair and dye it again.
