What is it about human nature?
I was observing the news last week, and before hurricane Ivan hit Galveston, the govt warned people to evacuate, and that staying meant certain death. Yet 2000 souls stayed and are presumed dead. This happened in Noah's day also, as it is written
"For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. "
And now Christ's return is so imminent, yet people are doing the same as in Noah's day. Do you think some people just don't want to live?
We won't know the day or the hour, but Jesus told us what the signs of the end would be. As a woman with child is in labor, no one knows exactly when the child will be born, but everyone knows it will be soon.

Doesnt the bible also say " be ye not seekers of signs and wonders" and " no man knows the time of my coming except my father in heaven"? To ask and say the things you say goes against your own faith , how do you reconcile that?

The flood story is very common in Middle Eastern mythology. Once again The Gilgamesh story comes into play.
Noah comes from the Sumerian Character Utnapishtim, who was given the same message as Noah, and mankind was given the same punishment. Utnapishtim is Noah, and this Sumerian character was over 2,000 years before the Noah story was ever created.
oh yes and the last statement about not knowing when a child is going to be born
We actually now know because of modern science when a child is going to be born
i urge you to research history of the middle east. The things you find will be mind boggling

I was born and raised in Chas., SC and I've lived thru many hurricanes, most minor, some major. People do not realize the danger, esp if they've been told of disasters in the past and they did not come about. In Chas. people would go down to the beach for a Hurricane Party instead of evacuating. Given the number of hurricanes there are, few are major disasters. Most just cause minor damage. Lately we've seen more and more disasterous ones, but until you've actually lived thru a disaster, you cannot anticipate how bad it is.
Of course people want to live. If people understood the danger, they would prepare for it.

Followers of Christ, try to live in obedience and accordance, but many are being deceived by satan's way of living for ourselves instead of God.
