Does anyone have a Luger snail drum magazine?

I'm looking for a collector's grade 32rd drum magazine for the Luger P08. I would really like to buy one of these. If you have one or know where to find one then let me know. Thanks.

    GOOD LUCK! ! ! !

The 'snail drum' mags for the Artillery Lugers are almost as scarce as shoulder stock-holster combo's, and, when you CAN find one (in ANY condition!) they usually price more than most Luger pistols themselves.

WORD OF WARNING! DO NOT waste your money on repro's! I and several friends have owned Lugers for years, and none of us have ever found one of any decent quality, much less one that worked properly. . . . .

Bound's hubby here: The Luger, like the Colt SAA, had different names associated with the barrel lengths. The Artillery Luger had a long (perhaps 10") barrel, a snail drum magazine, a long range leaf sight, and if I remember correctly, a forearm under the barrel. Also, I believe the artillery luger has a cut on the grip to accommodate a holster/stock. The idea behind the Artillery Luger was to give artillery men a weapon that could "reach out", but be more effective than a standard handgun, but not have the weight or bulk of a rifle ... much like the concept behind the carbine as a replacement for the M1 Garand and the .45 for crew served weapons. Good luck!

I saw one on Gunbroker.com a few months ago that sold for 18 hundred dollars. If my memory serves correct it came with the loading tool and leather pouch.

The Artillary Luger is the one most commonly associated with the snail drum magazine, you might check with http://www.simpsonltd.com/index.php?cPath=179_200 about your interest in a snail drum magazine, they occasionally have them for sale on their site, but they don't last long.

Good luck! Originals cost more than a good Luger and the reproductions are junk.
