kitchenaid refrigerator not cooling the top fridge but freezer works fine ?

Just last week I had the same model number as you with the same problem. Once I removed the back cover of the freezer section the fan was not turning. However, I did manually spin it and it started to work. But once I stopped the fan it would not start again. I have changed more evap motors in these models than I can count. It can be a hit and miss with these models. The nice thing is that kitchenaid has put out a revised fan and I never have had to go back out once I changed the motor. On a rare occasion your damper might not be opening. To check the damper, open the freezer and hold down the light switch. Now, just hold your hand by the grill on the back wall of the freezer by the top. If you feel cold air blowing out then your evap fan is running properly. Now, close the freezer and open one side of your ref. Again, hold down the light switch and hold your hand by the grill on the back wall by the top. If you don't feel any air coming out then your damper is the problem.

my kitchenaid fridge is not cooling but the freezer works with no problems. my model is kbfa25erss01. what could the cause be? a tech came out and quoted me to replace the evap fan motor but the fan is working just find. i am clueless.
