How can I exercise while not able to walk?

I have twisted my ankle last week, and doc adviced no jogging or brisk walking for one month ( in fact now I can not even properly walk) . Yet I miss my workouts?

Any idea what kind of exercises I can do?

I had the same problem a couple of years ago, I bought an exercise ball, and was able to get my core workout that way. I also did some leg lifts (lay on your back, head off the floor, keep your feet at least six inches off the floor and alternate your legs like your swimming) They are also a great ab workout. I still watch tv on my exercise ball

You can swim, just be careful not to put a strain on your ankle. You might be able to do a low impact water aerobics since there will be less weight on your ankle.

You can still do arm and abdomen exercises, possibly with weights. It might be worth it to take a session with a personal trainer to help you find a workout routine you can do until your ankle heals.

Residents at my work do Chair exercises!! They sit in the chair and do arm lifts with weights and dance to music, but in a chair.

Yoga, swimming, leg lifts, sit-ups/crunches, you could use an AbLounge, lift weights...I can't think of any more.

maybe you could just work on your strength training instead of your cardio. try lifting dumbells and maybe some abdominal stretches so that your body isn't just sitting there wasting away.
