Critical Thinking Problem - Can someone help me??????
Two mathematicians, Al Gorithm and Polly Nomial, have not seen each other for a number of years. They run across each other at a mathematics teachers meeting, and the following is part of their conversation:
AL: “How old are your 3 children?”
Polly: “The product of their ages is 72.”
AL: “That doesn’t tell me enough. I need more information.”
Polly: “The sum of their ages is the same as the address on the outside of this building.”
AL: (after checking the address: “I still don’t know how old they are.”
Polly: “The oldest child likes chocolate chip cookies.”
AL: “Now I know how old they are.”
Question: How old are Polly’s 3 children?

The only possibilities of ages are as follow :
(1) 36 2 1 sum = 39
(2) 24 3 1 sum = 28
(3) 18 4 1 sum = 23
(4) 18 2 2 sum = 22
(5) 9 8 1 sum = 18
(6) 9 4 2 sum = 15
(7) 12 3 2 sum = 17
(8) 12 6 1 sum = 19
(9) 8 3 3 sum = 14 ---
(10) 6 6 2 sum = 14 ---
Checking the address it would be possible to give the ages of his kids coz the sum is different for each combination except for 2. (9) and (10) are the same that's why he needed another information to solve it. When he said my oldest kid that means the oldest is not a twin. The only solution is (9)
Ages are 8 3 3
