Is It Wrong For A Christian To Listen to Unchristian Bands?
In the bible, somewhere in Proverbs, it says that we should hate evil and perverse words. But I don't think that all Unchristian bands are evil, and it's truth that we can't ever hide from evil. I'm listening to MCR (My Chemical Romance) right now, and yet part of me feels guilty and ashamed for it, but part of me loves it.
So what is your opinion? Do you think it's okay for a Christian to listen to MCR, Linkin Park, Panic at the disco, and stuff like theta, or should Christians refrain from it?

where your treasure is, there will your heart be.
I would say that is self exploratory, but your young and that is part of it to. Life is short, don't waste time doing stuff you feel ashamed of doing, but don't deprive yourself from enjoying life. If you like music, that Jesus would not approve of, then you probably don't care for your faith at the moment, and want to do what you want. We've all been there( well I have). You are young, and if you want to live a life for Christ and you feel ashamed of listening to that music, then stop. There is no "I kinda feel bad but I kinda love it too." You either hate something or love it, you need to ask yourself that.

Yes, my dear, for you it is very wrong. I hope, for your conscience's sake, that you will give up listening to everything that you know or suspect to be Unchristian, including Unchristian bands. And beware, the Tempter is everywhere! You might consider converting to one of the older, more conservative orthodoxies that still has orders of penitential nuns--like the Poor Claires, or the Sisters of Perpetual Sorrow--and wall yourself away from every sort of impure thought or suggestion. Fly from evil!

Music is just music. As long as you don't let the music get in the way of your faith you have no problems.
Now, if you will excuse me while I turn up my online blues station here at work.....

Do whatever you want to do, that's the freedom of life. This is why I am Agnostic, I may do whatever I please without religion restraining me or wasting my time like going to church on Sundays.
