Why do MAC's lock up the most out of any computer?

I own PC's MAC's and Linux machines. Mac runs these comercials about how bad PC is. But it appears that MAC computers lockup the most out of any type. Why do you think that is? Is it just because MAC's actually do suck as much as everyone thinks, or is it just that Windows is that much better? I've spent over 25 years in IT and I will be the first to tell you, MAC'S are trash.

Update:

Didn't mention what MAC stood for, that wasn't the question, nor was your opinion of me the question. Try to stay focused.

Update 2:

Edit was for fbsguy...

Update 3:

Ok people let's try this again, Mac's lock up soo much, So does Windows. The question is, why do you think that is? Not DOES IT LOCK UP MORE.. They do, it's a proven fact. I'm curious as to why this would be. I am assuming it is just the same reason as in OS 7.5, OS 8, OS9 and OSX, and that is because the development is not well planned and even tho the OS runs off a Unix base, the problem is within the application of the MAC overlay ontop of a Unix base system. Now, those of you who have to dog me out for my years of experience probably have no clue what this all means. So please only those who know what they are talking about should respond.

Also kudos to the person who feels this is related to Poor Device Support. That was one of the reason JOBS gave for the recent demands for answers into the campaigns that serve to make MAC apear to be flawless when in fact it's one of the most flawed incomplete OS's until Vista came out.

Update 4:

For the young lady with 3 IT's for 70 Windows machines. It's because Windows operating systems are far more complex than MAC's. Mac's either work or they don't. No in between. PC's running Windows have a SAFE mode for one, they have the ability to UNDO ANYTHING that happens to the machine. However, MAC's leave you very limited in repairing such issues. Mac's offer two methods of working, 1. they work. 2. They don't work. So reinstall. I just think things need to me corrected within MAC before it can be considered stable. I mean if Linux can do it, why not the rest of the OSes?

Update 5:

EDIT FOR DEIBS...

Very good points. And you are right, ya gotta be off a little to really use em. Otherwise, yeah they lock up like a bank security guard.

There are lot of factors that can lead to unstable behaviour.

    1. Basic hardware specially in laptops is a factor. With the rush to get cheaper and cheaper laptops all sorts of corners are being cut in the consumer market. Although Macbooks are priced like a high quality PC, they typically contain the components of a low quality consumer unit. You can't really violate the laws of physics no matter how cool you want your laptop to look. Heat is a giant laptop instability source and it requires metal frames and lots of copper plumbing which make the laptop heavy and is the first thing to get dumped in consumer models.

So in most IT departments, the laptops are business grade laptops that still retain some good solid hardware design and therefore cost a bit more. A consumer grade Macbook has no chance of being as stable just from hardware considerations alone.

    2. Macbooks all come with only Intel 3100 integrated chipset video which is a source of heat in the main chipset and also degrades systems RAM and just seems to have less stable device drivers in general than NVidia or ATI. Now a huge percentage of PC's also have the questionable Intel 3100, but a certain percentage do have a more stable configuration against 100% of Macbooks stuck with this problem.

    3. In general there are more mechanisms for IT departments to push out updated device drivers on the PC than the Macs

    4. Windows has a much more mature device driver ecosystem.

    4. Frankly, the Windows kernel has had much more work done on it than Mac. Each version of the Windows client O/S is built upon the previous cycle of server level kernels. Hence Windows XP inherited the Windows 2000 kernel and Windows Vista used the Windows 2003 Server kernel as its starting point. This in turn became the starting point for Windows Server 2008 which will then evolve into Windows Seven due to be relased in 2009 etc. The number of man-hours here is insanely huge but all the average consumer knows is some silly TV commercials.

Wait, you had 2 antivirus courses working? you at the instant are not meant to try this by way of fact they're going to conflict and neither will artwork properly! besides, i've got been a abode windows person for many, some years and function by no skill had any huge problems with viruses, distinctly with the UAC secure practices found on Vista and abode windows 7. abode windows XP became notably in probability of viruses yet I certainly have by no skill been contaminated in view that upgrading. additionally, in case you at the instant are not doing something volatile on your computing gadget, you may by no skill even stumble upon viruses interior the 1st place. And the clarification your G5 is "greater shield" than a abode windows XP gadget is that maximum viruses are written to aim abode windows XP by way of fact it somewhat is/became the main generic working equipment interior the worldwide. as a result an outbreak might have optimal impression if it became written especially for it. additionally, your G5 is thoroughly out of date and makes use of previous PowerPC shape, so i'm no longer able to think of everybody bothering to write down any new application for it, no longer to point new viruses.

“ But it appears that MAC computers lockup the most out of any type. Why do you think that is?‘

Most likely because the IT department is clueless about any computer systems at all.

Our receptionist at work manages the 25 Macs we have (as a side task) yet the 70 Windows boxes require 3 full time IT people.

Because the Mac itself requires you to be an Emo or other eccentric personality to use it. Otherwise it randomly locks up till you become so frustrated you turn eccentric.

I think Mac's just lock up more because of poor device support. Microsoft has 3rd partied all of their devices and those manufactures have to keep up support to stay in business.

Macs do suck, they are overpriced, and Mac OS X has a lack of software support.
