Can Obama lose his bid for President due to race?

Yes he can, you see for many the only issue is race, and that is on both sides of the election.

Sad to see but the more KKK types that show up the better for McCain

I truly think this election is not being decided by main stream America but its being decided by fringe groups on either side

The primary think that could keep Obama from the white house is his politics. A secondary issue (unfortunately) is race and the fact that some people will not vote for an African American come what may!

On the same side of the coin, will Gov. Palin, being a woman, cost McCain votes?

No because there is less prejudice against women these days. Equally extreme conservatives who may hold some gender prejudices are probably reassured by her very conservative stance on many family values issues.

She may however lose votes because her knowledge of the world is woeful and her fundamentalist views jar with moderate McCain voters.

Sen. Obama will lose the election, not because of race. He will lose it because he is an empty suit. A first term hero. He has never met a payroll, managed a public budget, led anything, made any kind of decision that has immediate impact on many lives, nor has he any substance. I don't really like Sen. McCain's politics either. The knock on him has been: "he may change parties and become a Republican". However, no one, short of death, has sacrificed and endured more for their country. A POW is not an easy road, especially the with VC. I served with several ex-POW's at Fort Bragg, and can relate many horrible conditions, that one could not imagine. He is a true hero that has command and control experience in life and death situations. Three things that make the McCain case for me is:

1. It is all about judicial appointments. At least there is a chance with Sen. McCain, of getting (in my opinion) the proper appointments.

2. Who would you rather have getting tough with our enemies in the world. Sen. McCain probably has first hand experience with the KGB. A POW of his rank would have been interrogated by the KGB.The current Russian leader is ex-KGB. The only time Obama ever engaged in a heated conversation with a terrorist was arguing over a the check at lunch with Bill Ayers.

3. Sarah Palin for President in 4 or 8 years.

My prayer is that sound bites and charisma does NOT a President make. Especially in this case. Hey, I would have voted for Condy Rice, JC Watts, or Allen Keys. To me, race has nothing to do with it.

It should be about experience and qualifications. Obama/Biden have no chance on this scale.

Yes...while most all communities have made efforts in race relations...the blacks have lagged behind. Blamming everyone else for your problems and making little effort not only stops the progress of race relations it reverts them back to the way they were. So yes there is a good chance that could cost him the election.

Obama still can have the white house. Not to be racist but there are also more than one race in the united states bringing him votes. not only that but our economy is horrible and he vowes to fix that problem($4 gas) if he's put in the white house

I am not sure ,in my thinking,that the stories on Obama's father's people will not hurt him a tad but not too much. Sarah Palin? Well all I can think of when I see her name is "pit bull" and we don't need a pit bull attitude in office. That wasa most inappropriate saying for a person trying for vice president.

Actually, I believe the Bradley effect will most likely cause Obama to lose the election.
