Question for everyone who likes the Words and Wordplay section.........?

Why do so many people treat this forum like a general dumping ground for whatever ails them? I check in regularly with a wide variety of forums, and this is the ONLY one that regularly has inane questions from ignorant people that have nothing whatsoever to do with the topic. (Even the Religion and Spirituality forum gets questions about that topic, as skewed as they may be.)

Does this bother you as much as it bothers me?

Update:

To all of you except Michael (who, by his own admission, hasn't got a clue what I'm talking about), I thank you. I guess you're all more or less telling me to not sweat the small stuff. I need that once in a while :-)

Update 2:

If I could figure out how to give you 10's, I'd do it. But I can't figure it out.

Well I'm gonna suggest its because they may not be categorizing the question and end up putting it in whatever section Yahoo suggests. Take for example if someone put in "dgbskhgvdhvbafvd" for their question line, Yahoo will interpret it as some sort of acronym or cryptogram question, both of which pretty much get classified as word puzzles. Bottom line, the categories that questions end up in aren't always selected by the asker.

(and that puts part of the issue on Yahoo and how it reads the question. Try putting a "&" in a question and I'd say there's a real good chance Yahoo will want to put it in the hockey section. I have no idea why.)

Does it bother me? Not so much. I just think if people really want a good answer, their best option is to take the few seconds and put it where it'll get the best feedback.

No it does not bother me as much.

I think there are two possible reasons. People who have a trouble understanding how this site works. And trolls.

The first group will get the hang of it, eventually.

The second group? Ignore. I do not allow them to take up space in my head rent-free.

It sorta does, yeah. I think "why don't people read the topic first?" It makes me think that maybe they can't read--and that's depressing.
