I have a 2000 Mercury Villager with a factory alarm with remote. Now not working?

Both my remotes are not working so I know it is not a battery issue. The blinking red light in the car stops blinking and fades away once my over head lights fade away. I can gain access the old fashioned way and obviously no alarm is activated. Any ideas ?

Go to the dealer in person. I have a ford F150, went to the dealer

they helped me figure it out. Never charged me a cent.

The little light, you must of bumped, their a code, push it in so many times. The dealer can get the instructions, for your model.

Also could be fuses under dash.

Check the main alarm system box located under the steering wheel. Check if all of the wires are plugged into it, if not then plug them in, you might also want to check the fuses. If its not those problems you might need a new alarm system you can buy one at pep boys or auto pars stores, or you can even get another original one form the dealer and replace the old one.

check the remote batteries they may be weak also if you have the owners manual check it for reprogramming them replace the remote batteries then stand next to drivers door press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons down at the same time for 10 to 15 seconds you may hear the doors lock and unlock release the button and try the remotes one at a time
