Does anyone know an eco friendly site for affordable "green" bridesmaid dresses ? ?
I am getting my wedding gown custom made. My maids cannot afford this, nor would I want them to do this for a one day event ! I want to stay within the same theme as my dress but want to make sure that they can afford the dress. I have looked online and find mostly custom eco dresses for the maids. I do not want to find the same mass produced taffeta and cookie cutter dresses that are usually used at weddings. This is going to be a spring wedding and I know that getting them sized and to their fittings with time to spare is going to be on their part but I want to give them plenty of time to start. Since all of my maids are going to come from 3 different states I want to find a place that has a brick and mortar store front or can either be ordered in a store or can be ordered online and shipped where it needs to go. I also do not want something that is very renaissance looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How attached are you to having them all match? Remember, that "reduce" is the most important part of being green, followed by "reuse". (I suspect you see where I'm going here). If they have dresses they already own that they can wear then that will be quite eco-friendly. Otherwise have them hit consignment stores.
If you're looking to have them buy new ones, and just have less impact for that, see if you can find anything here

I didn't find it to be particularly helpful for me trying to be green, as to use any of those vendors I would have a) bought stuff that I could have made do without and b) bought from somewhere that's not local. But green is relative, so it might help.
