no it is not.... should last 2 - 4 hrs depending on usage

It depends on what you are doing with the system and what CPU you have. If you are playing a game, and it has an AMD Turion processor, or Intel P4, that would sound about right for a low-end battery, especially if you don't have the power-saving stuff turned on in windows.

If, on the other hand you have a Core2 Duo, have power-saving turned on so that the laptop throttles back the CPU to a lower clock rate when it isn't needed, don't have the screen set to "maximum brightness" when on battery and are just "surfing" the internet, you should be getting around 2 hours or more on a "small/standard" battery.
