Why do some women NOT tell...?
My brother's wife was apparently being harassed at work by some creepy security guy who took her kindness as a potential sign of something else and eventually got himself out of a job there. Problem is that she never told my brother what was going on, not when it was going on or when it was being resolved or anything. He of course is FURIOUS and says she didn't say anything because a) she liked it b) something besides the harassment was going on or c) she wanted a simple fling the guy got too attached and things went bad. He doesn't understand why a woman just simply wouldn't tell. Why she kept it such a big "secret". Never mind, that we all know that his mindset it that is something 'happens' to a woman, 9 times out of 10 she is "asking" for it.
Opinions, please...what are some of the reasons a woman would not tell she is being harassed? This is tearing our family apart, we are all trying to get him to see the other side of the coin, so to speak.

If her husband has a quick temper, she might not tell for fear of him flipping out. Running to her place of employment and causing a scene.
Because some men think, "she is asking for it", what good would it do to tell him anyway? If that is the mindset, it won't change when she tells him.
Maybe she looked on it as a workplace issue, and figured your brother wouldn't be able to help.

She could have been embarrassed, knew her husband was going to react that way, felt like maybe she did something to ask for it (even though she didn't - most women feel like it's their fault, even though they were the one being abused), or she wasn't really sure that it was inappropriate & didn't want to be seen as "crying wolf". Poor girl. I know he's your brother, but don't forget us women have to stick together!

That is probably the reason why she didn’t, cause she
Knew your brother would get mad, and look he is.
Would he of told her if it was the other way around?
There is no reason for you brother to get that upset. Have you asked?
Your brother why he is soooo mad?

Perhaps she knew he would over-react. Just like he has done. Self fulfilling prophecy right there.
Sounds like she handled the situation just fine and her work handled it just fine. He had no business in the situation at all.

She didn't tell him because this is EXACTLY how he would react. Instead of her feeling like the victim, he obviously treats her like dirt. In short, she didn't tell him to avoid the abuse that would inevitably come as a result.
