A girl named Ebony....?

No, you are not the only one to find this odd/sad - And I've seen this trend happening a lot

The weirdest one I ever heard of was a women named "Tree" who had a son named "Leaf" (No, she really spelled it this way and not the more tradition "Leif"!)

Also - Mother: Jewel - Daughters: Ruby & Diamond

I've never met anyone with those names except for Ebony and Monique. And both Ebonys and the one Monique were all white. A possibly Spanish Tyrone and an Aboriginal Keisha did go to my school though, I just didn't know them.

My husband and I chuckled, we thought the same thing! The song Ebony and Ivory kept playing in my head! Lol

I like the name Ebony, but definitely not with Ivory.

I think Ebony is a pretty name. Ivory reminds me of elephants :)

Yes it is a little odd but there again I love the unusual names makes a change from everyone calling their child the same, shows they have imagination

That's definitely weird. I understand the fun of having somewhat of a theme with family names, but that's pushing it a little too far for my taste.
