Help Interpreting CLEF P:2 and Standford Binet-V scores?
My son was part of a local university's psych department's study and we got some test results back. Unfortunately, all they told us about the results (in a form letter) is where normal was and if my son was above or below the normal range. I was hoping that somebody out there, with some knowledge of these tests, could help me tell a little more of where his skills are. This is especially of interest to us right now as we're getting ready to enroll him in school.
These tests were done when he was about 4½ years old.

1 AnswerOther - Education9 years agoPumpkin Pie Cake - Recipe needed...?
My son's birthday party is Saturday, and tomorrow I need to bake his cake. He wants a pumpkin pie cake, and I can't find my recipe.
My recipe used a cake mix on bottom (not made according to package), with a reserve of the cake mix left to sprinkle on top. In between it used a pumpkin pie filling, but not a already-made/canned one.
HELP! I've been searching and searching, and I can't find a recipe that looks similar to mine.

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoBack to School - Sandwich Bags?
OK - I'm having a dilemma about back to school and my son having full days w/lunches this year... I want to pack his lunches, as I will then know what he is being offered... but I don't like the idea of using 2-3 plastic baggies every day and then just adding them to the landfill masses... And his lunch box isn't big enough to use containers for everything...
I wanted to buy re-usable sandwich baggies... but at around $8 a bag, this isn't doable either. I figure that I should have 3 bags/day with a total of 15 baggies before I have to throw them in the washing machine/dish washer...
I'm now thinking about maybe trying to make (or having somebody help me to make) them myself... I would want a cotton exterior with a nylon interior... I would want a vertical strip of velcro on the "flap" with a vertical strip of velcro on the front of the back and another on the bottom of the back to be able to adjust the size as needed...
Snack: approx. 6” w / 5” h (need 10)
Sandwich: approx. 7½” w / 6” h (need 5)
Anybody else have this issue? How did you solve it?
If you are skilled at sewing, about how much do you think it would cost for me to make these baggies?
8 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoPokemon help needed - 2 part question...?
Please answer both questions - thanks!
PART ONE: My 5 year-old and 3 year-old are getting into Pokemon, and I need a good, simple guide book that shows pictures of 85% of the Pokemon, basic moves, and tell what the evolve from/into. I am not looking as much for extensive detail as I am for lots of pictures and enough basic information to help me give him the information he wants. He currently only watches Pokemon on the occasional video and likes to role-play/imagine-they-are Pokemon with his brother and cousin. We are NOT interested in any video game information...
PART TWO: Is there any Pokemon that has some sort of "healing" abilities? This would greatly help my son's when they are role-playing/imagining-they-are Pokemon.
Thanks!
5 AnswersOther - Games & Recreation1 decade agoPoll: What is/was your favorite Crayola crayon color?
When I was a child in school, I always wanted the biggest box of Crayola crayons, and I rarely got them... Now that my oldest has just started school, and both boys are into coloring, I find myself thinking about crayons again.
When I was a kid, Plum Purple and Midnight Blue were my two favorite colors. Did you have a favorite? Can you still remember it?

5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat are your opinion on Sib-Sets that use variations of the same name...?
As I was getting my son off the bus the other day, I misheard a mother in regards to her children's names and thought that she had two son's named Elias and Elijah - My first thought was "OK, good name, but really, twice!" (It turned out to be Isaiah and Elijah for those who were worried.)
My question is, what do you think of sibsets that use the different variations of the same names? (I've seen this as more common in boy/girl siblings) There are some examples posted below for your additional comments, but please feel free to expand your answer beyond these few names :-)
Elias & Elijah (boy-boy)
Michael & Michelle (boy-girl)
Christian & Christina (boy-girl)
Mary & Miriam (girl-girl)
Alec & Zander (boy-boy)
Xander & Lexie (boy-girl)
Hannah & Annika (girl-girl)
Elizabeth & Isabel (girl-girl)
Gabe & Brielle (boy-girl)
Jack & John (boy-boy)
Obviously, all can be considered names in their own right... and many you wouldn't know are simply variations on the same name unless you were as obsessed with names as some of us...
What are your opinions on sibsets that use variations of the same name?
9 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoHow to add to a corn-muffin recipe to make it different...?
I need to take a side dish to a BBQ this weekend and plan on taking corn muffins because they are easy, well-liked (at least in my family), and cheap.
Since this is a special occasion BBQ, I would like to make the corn-muffins a little more then the standard corn-muffins (but I still plan on using a mix...) I thought about adding salsa to the center of the muffin, then got to thinking that it might be too wet to work well.
I know the standard cheese, corn (creamed and not), bacon, and jalapeños - but I wanted something slightly different from the ordinary, while still being a corn-muffin
Do you have any recipes that you've used and have turned out to be really fabulous? Thanks!

1 AnswerBaby Names1 decade agoI want your opinion on when you should name your child...?
With our first born, we had a 4 names that we were tossing around in various combo's... We finally decided to keep all four names on our baby name list, and wait and see who he looked like...
With our second son, we really only had 2 names left that we could agree on (and one combination)... and so he was named (tentatively - I wouldn't use his name until he was born and called him all sorts of other endearments) by about 6 months into the pregnancy...
My grandmother wasn't named for quite awhile after she was born (I can't remember if it was months or years!), as her parents couldn't agree on a name... They finally settled on Rosie as that is what they had been calling her in the meantime - However, my grandmother was never overly fond of her name...
Now, I know that there is no one right way of doing this... but when do you think is too early or too late to be finally deciding on baby names?

6 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoI need a first name for a little boy...?
OK - I've been fixated on this twin set for awhile, but I can't find a first name that I like for one of them... Here's what I have...
Lorenzo Oliver & "_____" Xavier
(pronounced: lo-REN-zo AHL-ə-vər & "_____" ZAY-vee-ər)
I really would kind of like Xavier's first name to end with an "ah" sound or an "ee" sound... but I don't like cutesy names (Danny, Brody, etc), as they can sound childish... Also, I would like Xavier's first name to include a "z", "v", or "r" sound and be 2-4 syllables...
Can you help?
Are there any names that you feel work well, even if they don't meet the criteria above? Thanks!
18 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoMy 4 year-old son has a hernia - Do you have any advice?
OK - Just today we found out that our 4 year-old son has a hernia - we're currently waiting for Monday to come, so that we can get an appointment with a pediatric surgeon... I'm just this side of freaking out, and my hubby is about 2 steps ahead of me!
Do you have any advice or "we got through it" stories?
Anything that I can do to help make this easier on my son - how to explain surgery? books? projects?
Even websites to help - anything really!
He's not in pain - and I guess this is a fairly common occurrence... but this is MY child, and that makes all the difference in the world to ME...
Thanks for the help :)

2 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoSearching for two masculine middle names - can you help?
My friend recently suggested Oliver and Xavier as possible twin names to somebody... I really like how these two names work well together, but are distinct and individual!
What middle names would you suggest for these hypothetical twin boys?
What would be cute nicknames?
(pronounced: AHL-ə-vər & ZAY-vee-ər - and no, I do not want to change the spelling to the trendy Zavier)
Thanks for the help!
7 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoDoes your child have a classmate whose gender is unknown to you?
OK - my son recently got some new children in his class... and I have no idea if one of them is male or female!
When I first saw the child, they were just coming in from the playground (I was there to read to the class), and the child most definitely had on a girls coat - the type with faux-fur around the hood and cuffs. The child also has hair that hangs well past the shoulders. However, the child was wearing a rather masculine looking outfit of green camouflage... however, the outfit was very skater-ish and I've seen girls were the same. The child's name is Darwin - and so I'm about 60% sure that he is a boy... but with mother's using John and Keith on their little girls, I really can't even tell by that... And my son doesn't know (he's in preschool BTW) what gender the child is either!
Have you ever had this happen to you?
8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoI am looking for opinions on these baby names...?
OK - I'm asking that you give me your opinions based upon each set of sibling names... They do not represent real families, so please don't worry about that. Thanks!

7.) Soleil (g), Selene (g), Stella (g)
8.) Jason (b), Rachel (g), Travis (b)

So, what are your opinions on the names individually?
Does your opinion change when they are seen within a family?
Thanks!
